Hey, everyone! In a special edition of “In the Truck With Josh,” we ditch the truck and Josh takes us on a walk and talk about why we at Treasured Spaces love repeat customers, and why you should too!
In our industry, we have opportunities to really get to know our customers. Especially if we are doing long term projects for customers, we often get to know them and their families quite well with all the time we spend in and around their homes. It’s always a win when you can develop a good working and personal relationship with a customer, hopefully leading to repeat business. Some reasons we love repeat customers:
Sometimes a good chunk of time can pass between finishing a project, and someone reaching back out to do some more work for them. Having built a prior relationship with a client can make it much easier for them to reach out to you and jump right back in where you left off. It’s helpful when they already have an idea of how you work, and how you will work with them that can break that initial tension that can come with a new client-business relationship. Planting that seed of agreement and understanding can really make the job run smoothly and it’s more of a re-introduction than convincing them of your promise to help them achieve their end goal. They already have a good repertoire with you, and that sets you apart from other businesses.
Another benefit of repeat customers is having already built trust. Our trust in the customer is just as important as their trust in us. Based on prior work with them we have a good idea of how our working relationship is going to be, that we are going to get paid, and know they trust us to do our job. They trust that we will give them exactly what they asked for.
One of the biggest reasons we love repeat customers is that we know the home. Having either built or worked on the home in the past, we’ve spent enough time there to know a lot of the ins and outs of the home. We know how it was constructed, we know the layout and materials of the home. We probably know the age of the home and it’s history, whether new or old. We keep record of our past projects and know exactly what we did last time, which can help so much. For example, if we are adding a second addition to a home we built, we know exactly what roofing and siding was used, which makes it that much easier to jump into a new project having all that information.
Building that relationship with your customers, and having them choose you a first, second, third time, is something no amount of money can buy. Check out our Treasured Spaces gallery and see what keeps customers coming back!
